ACROSS COUNTRY #2

Features work inspired by and in response to time spent on Ngadjuri Country at Pitcairn Station, Mid North SA – arid, marginal, with spectacular views of the Porcupine Ranges.
In 2021, safe, away from COVID under the guidance of artist mentor John R Walker in residence, artists camped in the Pitcairn Station shearers’ quarters and worked on site in Chinese folding books.
Completed books were exhibited after the camp, in addition to John’s second exhibition ACROSS COUNTRY #1 created in and around Burra and Oratunga.
ACROSS COUNTRY #2 works have been produced after the May 2021 inaugural artist camp.
John R Walker is having an exhibition Deep Time Painting at Utopia Art Sydney featuring works inspired by his time in the Mid North of South Australia.
